Pure Enjoyment. Pure Canadian Heli skiing

From small group heli skiing to the stunning Bear Claw Lodge, Skeena has heli skiing in Canada dialed

Canadian heli skiing. Canadian hospitality. With a Swiss twist.

Welcome to north of heaven, eh

We pride ourselves on showing off Canada’s natural wonders. From deep, fresh snow to world class local fare on the dinner table, we aim for the peak every time.

Canadian Heli Skiing at its Peak

Manners are the only thing stopping us from claiming we’re the best. Sorry.

Call it epic. Or call it legendary. At Skeena, we call it Tuesday. We use small groups and only two helis to ensure every single customer gets their more-than-fair share of turns. Additionally, we experience only a few down days and have too many runs to name. With Unlimited Vertical and one of the biggest ski areas on the planet, the variety of terrain we access will send you home happy and happily exhausted. It will also have you returning for more.

So don’t settle for mere daydreams. Make the ultimate fantasy come true.

One of the Biggest Heli Skiing Areas on the Planet

442X bigger than Vail. 288X bigger than Whistler Blackcomb. 91X larger than Les Trois Vallées.

Numbers don’t lie, so let’s keep them coming: +280 summits. 860 run variations. 30 metres of snowfall (90ft). The Skeena Mountain Range is diverse and seemingly infinite. As a result, high elevation peaks and steep vertical slopes empty out to powder bowls, pillows, and chutes. Add in a healthy dose of world class treeskiing for good measure on low viz days. The closest run is a 6 minute flight, and most of the day you are within 15 minutes of your après beer should you want to return. There’s so much terrain to explore, you’ll have to return for your skis to touch even a sliver of it.

Gemütlichkeit: More than a Feeling

In German, the word Gemütlichkeit means “a feeling of warmth, friendliness, and good cheer,” but to those who know, it amounts to something so much larger.

Gemütlichkeit is a celebration of what it means to be a human doing exactly what they want to do in that exact moment. It’s an expression of “right here, right now.” It’s the post-run high five. It’s the pre-meal proscht. It is both our mantra and our rallying call. From thousands of feet in the air, to knee-deep in B.C.’s best snow, Gemütlichkeit might be a German word, but it’s 100% Skeena spirit.

When Homebase Feels More Like Home

Bear Claw Lodge brings next-level comfort to the Canadian wilderness

Bear Claw Lodge is a 15,000-square-foot timber lodge built on the Kispiox River. Imagine floor-to-ceiling windows of mountains and waterways full of wildlife. We serve food that would be at home in Montréal or Copenhagen. The staff is friendly. The vibe is, well, let’s call it Canadian upscale.

The welcoming warmth of our staff is only matched by the towering fireplace of The Great Room and those who gather around it. We eat at large tables where stories taste as good as the food we share. This is our home. We wish to share it with you.

Let Us Be Your First

Most heli skiing in Canada is memorable. We make it unforgettable.

It doesn’t matter how many chairlifts you’ve ridden. The thrill of stepping out of a helicopter into the roaring rotor wash cannot be understood until you’ve screamed in joy as the “bird” lifts off and you’re left standing in awe. For first timers, it’s unlike anything else. For return guests, they say “it never gets old”. Every time. We take care of everyone, from the vast variety of welcoming terrain we have, to the small group size which encourage new experiences surrounded by experience people. Put your worries away. We got you.

Easy to Get to.
Easy To Stay.

Travel to the goods quicker and easier than ever, and then come back again and again.

Only one hour and forty minutes north of Vancouver, B.C., Canada, we wait to pick you up and whisk you to the gorgeous Bear Claw Lodge on the banks of the Kispiox River. Canadians will be amazed by their own country. Americans will think remote as Alaska. Europeans will leave home in the morning and fall asleep in a comfy bed by evening’s end. As a matter of fact, Canadian heliskiing trips are more beautiful in Northern British Columbia, and easier to get to than anywhere else worth going.

The Best Place To Ski

For me, Skeena Heliskiing is the place to go. Heli-skiing at its best with a beautiful lodge (only 12 guests), friendly and professional staff and very experienced guides. There is a lot of varied terrain, from high alpine bowls and long glaciers to nice tree skiing runs. Beside skiing is also the food from the best and from day one, you feel like home. At the end, you want to go back, it's what I do 😉

The Best Heli Skiing on Earth

I have been to Skeena heli skiing 6 times now since 2013, and it is the best place on earth. The terrain is very varied so you can get it all. The guides seem to me to be the best guides in the whole world, they are very experienced and have great focus on safety, and they adjust the pace to all levels on the groups. The pilots are very experienced and very solution oriented and also gives you a good time flying. The Lodge is amazing and the staff is one of a kind. The food is top notch. All in all, the total experience is truly wonderful—that's why I come back every season.
